Laser Skin Rejuvenation / IPL

Laser light is absorbed by water or dark pigments in our body's tissues (such as melanin in the skin and hemoglobin in the blood) and converted to heat. A variety of functional and cosmetic skin problems can be treated with lasers. These lasers are often specialized to handle a particular type of problem; there is no "cure-all" laser capable of correcting all problems.

Lasers offer many advantages over traditional, mechanical technology, including "bloodless" surgery, reduced risk of infection, less scarring, high precision, limited injury, and faster procedures.

Laser treatments can reduce the appearance of sun damage, acne scars, stretch marks, sun damage, wrinkles, fine lines, vascular lesions (spider veins and redness on the face) and uneven pigmentation.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology uses high-energy pulses of light to provide long-lasting results. IPL skin resurfacing, collagen stimulation, vein therapy and photoepilation improve skin texture and appearance and remove hair from any area of the body without damaging nearby tissue. Hair, veins or pigmented regions on the skin surface selectively absorb the pulses of light, shrinking or fading after treatment; collagen tightens, smoothing the skin. Patients can return to work and all regular activities immediately after the procedure. Skin appearance should improve soon after treatment. Hair loss is immediate and long-lasting. Several treatments may be desired for optimal results.

Chemical Skin Rejuvenation

Chemical peels (often called chemosurgery) use a chemical solution, applied by a trained healthcare professional, to remove the top layers of damaged skin. New cells formed during healing produce a tighter, more youthful-looking skin.

Chemical peels have proven successful in restoring wrinkled, sun-damaged and blemished skin, and may be applied to the entire face, or specific areas such as the mouth or forehead.

Juvéderm™

Juvéderm™ is an injectable gel that gently reverses many signs of aging in the face, including fine lines and wrinkles, crow's feet, thinning lips and loosening skin. It can also "plump up" the lips, sculpt the cheeks, and restore a youthful oval shape to the face. It is made with hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found in the body that works with collagen and elastin to give volume and support to the skin. Because it is non-animal-based and highly biocompatible, no pre-treatment testing is needed. Juvéderm™ comes in three formulas optimized for the depth of the area being treated. Results last about 6-9 months and can be made to last even longer with a simple follow-up treatment a few weeks after the initial injection.

Laser Hair Removal

Using the latest technology, we are able to remove those unwanted hairs. This will ensure that you will never need to shave, or use other depilatory devices, again.

Until now, the only options for removing unwanted hair were shaving, waxing, hair-removal creams, tweezing or electrolysis, and these are all temporary and/or painful. In the 1980s a Russian physicist, while developing the Ruby laser for defense purposes, accidentally lasered himself on the arm. He noticed that the hairs in the lasered area were vaporized, and new hair growth occurred only after a number of months. As a result of this accident, laser hair removal was born.

This technique is good for underarms, face, legs, back and most other skin surfaces.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion improves mild to moderate sun damage, scarring, wrinkles and other superficial skin problems. A gentle stream of tiny particles exfoliates the outer layer of skin and provides a fresh, glowing, younger appearance. The particles scrape away the surface layer of aging or damaged skin, which is then brushed off with the microdermabrasion vacuum tool with no need for anesthesia. Only a small amount of skin is removed, so sensitive areas such as the face, chest, neck, arms and hands can be treated. Results are comparable to a light chemical peel and should be immediately visible.

Radiesse®

Radiesse® is a synthetic injectable filler that has been FDA-approved to reduce moderate to severe wrinkles, folds and creases around the nose and mouth by augmenting the skin's natural collagen supply. It is a safe, effective and long-lasting alternative to injectable collagen and other dermal fillers for not only smoothing wrinkles but also adding volume and contour to the face for an overall younger, fuller, smoother appearance. Radiesse® can be used also for “off label” indications such as cheek augmentation and sexual enhancement/augmentation including penis enlargement and G- spot enhancement.

What is Radiesse® made of?

Radiesse® is composed of microspheres in a water-based gel. The microspheres—made of a substance called calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA)—stimulate the production of collagen to smooth lines and wrinkles and also add younger-looking suppleness to the face. Radiesse® is made from minerals similar to what makes up our bones. There is no need for pre-treatment allergy testing, and it is absorbed naturally by the body over time.

What areas does Radiesse® treat?

Radiesse® can be used on many areas of the face and body. Numerous studies have shown Radiesse® to be especially effective for filling and correcting smile lines, nasolabial folds (lines from the nose to the corners of the mouth), marionette lines (from the corners of the mouth to the chin), and other lines and wrinkles around the nose and mouth. It can also be used to treat depressed scars and oral commissures.

Radiesse® has also been approved by the FDA to restore and correct the signs of lipoatrophy (loss of fat beneath the skin) in patients with HIV.

What can I expect during treatment?

At your Radiesse® treatment, your doctor will clean the treatment area and administer a series of quick injections with a fine needle. Treatments typically take 15 minutes and require only local anesthetic. There is little to no downtime; many patients return to their normal activities after their appointment.

Patients typically need only one or two treatments to achieve the full effect of Radiesse®. Your doctor may recommend a follow-up appointment to determine whether you would benefit from additional treatments.

Are there any side effects?

Side effects such as mild irritation, itching, swelling, discoloration or tenderness at the injection site are minimal and should fade within a few days.

When will I see the results of my Radiesse® treatment? How long do results last?

Results are visible immediately after the injection and can last for up to a year or more. Touch-up treatments can prolong Radiesse®'s effects. Studies have shown that patients require fewer re-treatments with Radiesse® than with other leading dermal fillers.
